Etihad To Ditch Seatback Screens In Economy Class
As part of a journey from Kuwait to Brussels, I boarded Etihad's Boeing 787-9 between Abu Dhabi and Rome. This was the longest flight in my journey - one of three flights in total to get to my destination. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of product onboard this flight. Here is a review of my experience.

The seats recline to a fully lie-flat-bed 78" in length and feature a 17.3" 4K TV screen, Bluetooth headphone pairing, multiple charging ports and wireless charging, as well as plenty of storage. Elevating Economy In Economy, the newest 787 will feature 271 seats which are lighter in weight than the current fleet and therefore more fuel efficient.

Each seat also boasts the airline's signature 'fixed wing' headrest, introduced with the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 Dreamliners, where one side of the firmly padded headrest protrudes so that travellers can nestle into it when relaxing or sleeping. Fortunately, Etihad operates a 787-9 between China's most populous city and the capital of the UAE. Business class was pricing at about $1,450 for the one-way journey, which isn't terrible for a 9-hour flight. Still, TPG had some expiring Etihad Guest miles to burn, so he redeemed 72,661 miles for the ticket, plus about $165 in taxes and fees.
